Update on iPhone ARKit

The group working on the iPhone for ARKit has started their own blog.  Unlike the Google Docs page, they’ve given more insight into their goals and why they’ve taken on the project

Wednesday of last week I turned to my co-worker Zac White and asked if he’d thought about a project for us to do over the course of iPhone Dev Camp.  When he paused for just a little too long I made a suggestion.

“Let’s make an Augmented Reality library and give it away.”

The end result of their iPhone Dev Camp experience was winning the award for Best Open Source application with this demo:

The group is just getting started, but we’re hoping they can reach their goals because it would be another useful tool for the AR community.  Follow them on twitter if you want regular updates.
