Hi,

Augmented reality is increasing into new realms, as ThomasKCarpenter.com impressively documents. We would like to keep you up to speed on Marc Ecko's Muse project, an example of a new AR application in the realm of fashion that encompasses accessibility, user interaction, and creativity. The augment-able interface is a hologram of Lindsay Lohan, the celebrity endorser spearheading the launch of Ecko's Cut & Sew line. Users display a specialized glyph in a webcam-recorded video to activate her hologram. In the real world, users can move and manipulate the hologram while in the digital void, users alter Lindsay's emotions which range from aggressiveness and rage to admiration and ecstasy. Users can then submit the recorded videos for a shot at winning $10,000!

There's also is a separate contest for those who have video editing skills - after downloading a set of exclusive images and hologram content, users can record and edit their own projects! This group of entries will be judged separately by Marc and a select panel with the winner receiving a complete video editing system worth $3,000! Entry details can be found here: http://www.marceckomuse.com/competition

We’d love if you can share this with your readers, and even record a video! We're also open to setting up a smaller promotional giveaway to accompany a post if this is something you're interested in. Let me know what you think of the site and if you have any questions or need any additional assets please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

Dan

I am very interested in all things AR that we can plug in to the live art form of 3D street painting (chalk art). take a look at a post I put together about how we think 3D street painting can work well with AR and Quick Response at 'The Business of Street Painting Art' blog at http://businessofstreetpainting.typepad.com. And at this point in time, there are so many interesting concepts happening (such as these AR glasses in your recent post), its good to keep aware in any case.

Hi Tom,

This message is from a group of educators in Pennsylvania who have developed a technology and fabrication project that is in the process of raising a modest amount of money to build prototypes for gathering additional partners.
Our project, the Civil War Augmented Reality Project, is intended to enhance the experiences of people visiting Civil War sites. It is also intended to increase attendance and revenue for historic sites by offering both “high” and “low” tech experiences to best reach the majority of the population.
We feel that our project is fulfilling a need that educators, park workers, technology enthusiasts, and Civil War enthusiasts have discussed in the past: How can historic sites both raise educational value and public interest in their institutions though technology, while not alienating the non-technical history fans?
We have worked hard on the answer, and are interested in promoting our creative solutions.
We would like to make clear that the project is not intended solely for Pennsylvania. It is our hope that the project will expand to other venues, as we feel that we have the ability to use our ideas to enhance the experiences of all students at historic sites.

If you have a chance, please check out our blog:
http://acwarproject.wordpress.com/

And our fun, Civil-War flavored funding campaign on Kickstarter:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jmummert/the-civil-war-augmented-reality-project

If you think that our project has merit, we would be delighted if you could mention it in your blog.

Tom, I found you while doing a search on You Tube for a tutorial on the Unifeye design trial version 1.0. You seem to really got it together. I was hoping I can get some help from you. How can I e-mail you? It's for a project with this software for my son. Thank you.

Hello from France Tom! I am french and i fund your blog today. We have things in common, like the fact we both started our blogs in last February, and that we both love Augmented Reality (and Ted Conferences!).
My blog is a mix between advertising and augmented reality (2 passions in one blog).
Be sure I will come back in here, and if you are interested, here are the posts I made.
The first one is my best success :
<a href="http://publigeekaire.com/2009/06/10-applications-concretes-de-la-realite-augmentee/" rel="nofollow">http://publigeekaire.com/2009/06/10-applications-concretes-de-la-realite-augmentee/</a>
and there are a lot of others right here :
<a href="http://publigeekaire.com/tag/realite-augmentee/" rel="nofollow">http://publigeekaire.com/tag/realite-augmentee/</a>
They are all in french, but the videos are usually in english and I think you will not have problems to understand them.
Have a nice week-end, Mathieu.
PS : good luck for you novel, i would also like to make someting like this, but until that, i keep writing posts about advertising in 2020
         </blockquote>
Great site you have, i am sure. I think it's kinda hard to unite two passion in one blog, but you've done already, keep up your good work.

Tom, i admire your knowledge and your experience. I hope your novel launch soon, i am the first one who got it. Thank you.
